Current project news, appearances, and occasional random musings.
The film WEALTH BEFORE PATRIOTISM has been reelased and is now available online, for your viewing pleasure, from WingIT Productions. Spoiler alert! Everyone dies! You can't do it on the online version, but my favorite thing to do on the DVD is pause and step through my beheading, frame by frame, to see the expression on my face. Sweet!
We completed filming the short film DAMN YOU, BONE today. This was my first time to be involved with a film as part of the crew. Officially, I was in charge of props, but it was a small shoot, and we all did whatever was necessary to get the job done. It was a good experience, although I much prefer being in front of the camera. I had a great time, though, and met some really nice people. That's always the best part of a project, for me.
There will be a screening of the short film IT'S WHAT'S ON THE INSIDE THAT COUNTS tonight, along with other films created by participants of the 24 Hour Video Race. The first group of films begins showing at 6:15pm. Our group, Altashheth, is part of the Guerilla category, which begins at 8:00pm. Other films will be shown over the next two nights, as well. This will be lots of fun, so come support your local filmmakers. I am told that tickets are only $3.
This weekend, I will once again be participating in the 24 Hour Video Race produced by the Video Association of Dallas. What is it? "The 24 Hour Video Race is a fun and wacky competition in which teams of video makers - from students to seasoned professionals - have 24 hour to write, shoot, and edit a 5-minute video, incorporating a surprise theme, prop, location, and line of dialogue. I had such a great time last year that I wouldn't miss it. Of course, I may change my tune when our 4:00am call time rolls around!
There will be a screening of the short film RITCHIE'S CREW on Saturday, May 6, 2006. It will take place at 3:00pm at the University of North Texas on the 3rd floor of the University Union. The address is 1155 Union Circle, Denton, TX 76203. My part in this film was very small, so don't blink or you'll miss it. If you do, that's okay. There will be several other films shown, as well, so it should be a good time.
