24 Hour Video Race
May 11, 2006

This weekend, I will once again be participating in the 24 Hour Video Race produced by the Video Association of Dallas. What is it? "The 24 Hour Video Race is a fun and wacky competition in which teams of video makers - from students to seasoned professionals - have 24 hour to write, shoot, and edit a 5-minute video, incorporating a surprise theme, prop, location, and line of dialogue. I had such a great time last year that I wouldn't miss it. Of course, I may change my tune when our 4:00am call time rolls around!

There will be a screening of the short film RITCHIE'S CREW on Saturday, May 6, 2006. It will take place at 3:00pm at the University of North Texas on the 3rd floor of the University Union. The address is 1155 Union Circle, Denton, TX 76203. My part in this film was very small, so don't blink or you'll miss it. If you do, that's okay. There will be several other films shown, as well, so it should be a good time.

Shooting for the feature PROJECT CLEAR VISION began today, and my scenes as James Riley were first. Unfortunately, due to a technical issue, we didn't get around to shooting my shooting. Did that make sense? We blocked and rehearsed the scene a bit, though, and will come back another day to finish up. That's too bad because I was really looking forward to getting bloody today. Oh well. Soon. Very soon.

Filmed Palm Beach Tan
April 12, 2006

I completed filming scenes for a Palm Beach Tan industrial, playing numerous parts. We worked for two days, and it was a lot of fun. Oh, yeah, and we wrapped at 6:30 this morning, so I am just a bit tired.

Filmed STRAIN
April 9, 2006

We completed filming STRAIN today, after shooting all weekend. What a jerk my character, Tommy, is! Ah, yes, and what an easy role for me. Hardly any acting involved. I'm kidding, of course. Let's see... On Friday, I filmed my guitar-playing scene, and I smoked an entire pack of cigarettes. Gross. I have never smoked before, so I had to actually learn how on set. My lungs are still mad at me. On Saturday, we shot the comic book store scene, where I got into it with the manager and gave Jake some of my good advice. And on Sunday, I broke up with my girlfriend, Janine, and violated her toothbrush. What fun!

We shot the short film WEALTH BEFORE PATRIOTISM today. I played a tail gunner named Cagney who is injured when his B25 bomber is shot down during the Battle of the Coral Sea. The plane crashes on an island, and the surviving crew members are picked off one by one by the Japanese. Delirious from the pain of his injuries, Cagney drifts in and out of consciousness. He hallucinates that a beautiful woman is dancing before him, only to realize too late that it is a Japanese soldier coming in for the kill. He is decapitated in a most dramatic fashion. I think I still have blood in my ears and hair.
